Bragg Creek is a small hamlet in Southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County in Division #6.Located 30 km (19 miles) west of Calgary via Highways 8 & 22. It is located north of the intersection of Highway 66 & Highway 22.

Named after Albert Warren Bragg from Collingwood, Nova Scotia and his 14-year old brother John Thomas who lived in the area in 1894. The community was established between a forestry reserve, of the Sarcee Indian Reserve and the Provincial Park. Ranching was the original primary economic generator for Bragg Creek. The economy diversified with the emergence of recreation in the 1920’s.

The Alberta movie business has featured Bragg Creek in the films Storm in 1987 and Killer Image in 1992 both directed by the famous David Winning & Also Betrayed in 1988 directed by Costa-Gavras. During the 1990s, CBC aired the television program called North of 60, which was mainly filmed in the Bragg Creek area. The town was the filming location for the BBC/Discovery Channel series Dinosapien in 2007 and the 2009 CBC television series Wild Roses, as well as portions of the movie Fubar.
